3’s 4’s & 5’s Classroom
At Beachmont, we see children as individuals and recognize that each child develops and grows differently.
Children ages 3-5 are continuing to develop independence, social skills, emotional skills, and motor skills. They are also developing and building on their literacy and communication skills.
-
Our caring teachers are here to assist your child in developing strong social skills in a variety of ways such as self-control, taking turns, following routines, transitions, and actively participating in class activities. Our goal is to guide your child on what is appropriate, safe, and kind.
-
The teachers will also focus on helping your child to develop healthy emotional skills. Children need guidance and patience as they do not have an adult capacity to process their feelings and regulate their emotions. During this time, your child will work on identifying emotions and feelings, self-control, and self-regulation.
-
Independence is an important part of your child’s development. At this age, children are learning to be confident in themselves and their abilities. They will also learn and assume responsibilities in the classroom to better care for themselves and the classroom. As children are continuing to learn what they like, do not like, and are growing in doing more by themselves such as getting ready to go outside, going potty by themselves, and cleaning up. Our teachers are here to teach and encourage independence at an age appropriate level.
-
We will also continue to work with your child as they enhance their fine-motor and gross-motor skills. We have fun doing this using indoor opportunities such as painting, writing, and completing puzzles and outdoor opportunities such as jumping through puddles, working through obstacles on the playground, and climbing over logs!
-
We will build on your child's literacy skills in a variety of creative ways, while also helping them expand their communication skills as well. Through our curriculum, A Year of Playing Skillfully, and a play based learning style, we will teach about nature, the alphabet, shapes, numbers, explore more complex concepts and so much more!
Our goal at Beachmont Child Care is to help with the development of each of these skills by providing a safe and fun environment in which children play, learn, express their emotions, and explore together. To accomplish this, we will utilize our curriculum as well as our beautiful campus, indoors and outdoors!
