2’s Classroom
At Beachmont, we see children as individuals and recognize that each child develops and grows differently.
Children ages 2-3 are developing independence, social, and emotional skills. While they develop a lot of skills during this age range, these are some of the most important and we are excited to help your child grow!
-
Our caring teachers are here to assist your child in developing strong social skills in a variety of ways including learning how to positively interact with peers as well as adults. They will give your child guidance on what is appropriate, safe, and kind.
-
The teachers will also focus on helping your child to develop healthy emotional skills. Young children need guidance and patience as they do not have an adult’s capacity to process their feelings and regulate their emotions.
-
Independence is an important part of your child’s development. They are learning what they like, do not like, and attempting new things by themselves such as getting dressed and going potty. Our teachers are also here to teach and encourage independence at an age appropriate level.
-
We will also continue to work with your child as they enhance their fine-motor and gross-motor skills. We have fun doing this by using indoor opportunities such as painting, gluing, and using safety scissors and outdoor opportunities such as climbing our tire pyramid, jumping through puddles, digging, and searching for treasures in our Pebble Beach playbox!
Our goal at Beachmont Child Care is to help with the development of each of these skills by providing a safe and fun environment in which children play, learn, express their emotions, and explore together. To accomplish this, we will utilize our beautiful campus, indoors and outdoors, as well as our curriculum, A Year of Playing Skillfully. Through our curriculum and a play based learning style, we will teach about nature, the alphabet, shapes, numbers, and so much more!
